At Warpnet, we believe that you learn the most in practice, so we also regularly take on interns. Last period, Tjesse joined our team as an intern. During his internship, he researched which vulnerabilities in Secure Dropzone - Warpnet's secure file transfer tool - were most relevant to perform a pen test on, so that we can address these vulnerabilities. In this article, he describes how he experienced his internship.

How have you experienced your recent time at Warpnet?

I had a great time at Warpnet. During the internship I was given many responsibilities, which ensured that I gained a lot of knowledge in a short period of time. Warpnet is an organization without hierarchy, so everyone is equal. The contact with colleagues is therefore very accessible and everyone is there for you if you need help.

What did you focus on during your internship?

My internship research was about which vulnerabilities in Secure Dropzone were most interesting to do a pen test on. Eventually, I was allowed to help perform the pen test myself and write the report of it. In addition, the internship also offered me the space to get acquainted with other functions within Warpnet, as I was allowed to observe colleagues. Warpnet also organized knowledge sessions to teach each other. I learned new hacking techniques and a lot of new things about IT security.

What are the next steps after your internship?

I have to study for another six months first. In the first half year I will do a specialization and then a graduation internship for half a year. Before my internship at Warpnet I already found IT security very interesting, this internship has only confirmed that. That's why I want to delve even deeper into this field.
