Cloud Engineering FAQ

What is Cloud Engineering?

Cloud solutions are more efficient, secure and scalable than on-premises systems. You can quickly increase or decrease the use of computing resources as your business needs change, giving you more flexibility. In addition, Cloud systems have reliable disaster recovery capabilities, protecting your business in the event of a force majeure.

Why Warpnet for Cloud Engineering?

Warpnet has more than 10 years of experience in delivering digital and Cloud facilities. and has conceptualized, implemented and maintained Cloud apps, Cloud services and Cloud infrastructure for hundreds of organizations and government agencies.

What are the benefits of Cloud technology?

The three biggest advantages of Cloud technology are: Scalability, Cost Effectiveness and Security. With the Cloud, any organization can scale its operations horizontally and vertically without spending a fortune on data servers and IT infrastructure. Moreover, data hosted in the Cloud is safe, secure and protected, ensuring the highest return on investment.

What are the disadvantages of Cloud Engineering?

There are few drawbacks that apply to Cloud Engineering with one major exception: the risk of low-quality service from a Cloud provider. Choosing the wrong Cloud computing service provider can be very detrimental to any organization because their reliance on Cloud SaaS, PaaS and/or IaaS solutions from a single vendor can place all responsibility for IT service delivery within their company on the shoulders of a third party. Similarly, any enterprise considering the use of Cloud Engineering services should ensure that they have properly assessed the scalability, availability and flexibility of the Cloud solutions they intend to use. They should also examine the reliability of the provider(s) of Cloud solutions that their organization plans to engage.

Why are Cloud Engineers important?

Cloud Engineers specialize in native Cloud services, including Google Cloud, AWS and Azure, as well as third-party solutions needed to deploy and maintain Cloud systems. They are an essential part of the team in any project that uses Cloud elements, from mobile apps to IoT systems.

What Cloud types are there?

Clouds can be public or private.

Public Cloud platforms, such as AWS and Microsoft Azure, pool resources in data centers that are often spread around the world and users access them over the Internet. Resources are delivered to customers via metered services, and the Cloud provider is responsible for various levels of backend maintenance.

Private Clouds are shielded environments hosted in a company's data center or colocation facility. They lack the massive scale of public Clouds. But they do have some elasticity, and a company's developers and administrators can still use self-service portals to access resources. In theory, private Clouds offer more control and security, although it is up to a company's IT team to make sure this happens.

Public Clouds and private Clouds can be paired to create a hybrid Cloud, or two or more public Clouds can be paired to create a multi-Cloud architecture.

Broadly speaking, there are also three levels of Cloud computing: Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Software as a Service (SaaS). IaaS covers fundamental building blocks, such as computing, networking and storage. It offers the most flexibility for application development, but also requires the most overhead. PaaS abstracts these elements at a lower level and provides sandbox environments for app developers. The least practical Cloud model, SaaS, consists of licensed software delivered in the form of Web applications.
